Join us at the Next CEE Catch up! Learn about Temporary accounts!

Hi everyone,

We want to announce the tenth CEE Catch Up session, which will be dedicated to the Temporary accounts, as this important change is going to affect every Wikipedia soon, so it is important for patrollers and functionaries like you to understand this change. On wikis where temporary accounts are enabled, IP addresses of unregistered editors are not visible publicly. Only those who fight spam, vandalism, harassment and disinformation have access to IP addresses there.

The session will take place on 10th of June 2025, 18:00-19:00 CEST (check your local time).

Growth features - Mentorship and Community updates

​Hi everyone,

Wikimedia Foundation worked on evolving some of the growth features, primarily dedicated to the newcomers in our movement and communities. If you do not know, everyone can access them, activating them from Preferences (in the below of the page).

You can learn about these features here.

CEE Hub is contacting you (patrollers/admins) directly as we would like to bring to your attention two of these features that we think can be useful for your community: Mentorship and Community Updates.

We noticed that the majority of the CEE language editions of Wikipedia does not have active one of these features, so we are encouraging you to check whether your wiki has these features and if not to begin community discussion if you want to introduce them to your editors. If you want to check it, you need to go to the Special:CommunityConfiguration page on your wiki, where all of the growth features are listed.

Invitation for a session "Tools and features for Users with Extended Rights"

Hi, you are receiving this invitation as you are either patroller and/or admin in your community and CEE Hub is preparing a session called Tools and features for Users with Extended Rights, which we think that it will be interesting for you.

The session is organised by the CEE Hub along with Wikimedia Foundation’s Movement Communications regional specialist Natalia Szafran-Kozakowska. Speakers in the session are Product Managers and Software Engineers from Wikimedia Foundation, so you will hear recent updates, new developments, and they will answer questions. So, please think what you want to ask them and come to the session.

Vă invit să luați parte între 20 decembrie 2025 și 7 ianuarie 2026 la provocarea Vacanța Inteligenței Umane, un demers colaborativ în care ne punem spiritul critic la lucru prin corectarea unor articole Wikipedia redactate de modele LLM: va fi nevoie să verificați acuratețea faptelor (date, definiții, numere), să identificați și să corectați erori logice sau afirmații nefondate, să îmbunătățiți claritatea și neutralitatea stilului enciclopedic, să completați cu surse credibile acolo unde acestea lipsesc, să eliminați formulările vagi sau părtinitoare și să ajustați structura textelor pentru coerență și lizibilitate. Explicația utilizării cinstite pentru fișierul Victor Dombrovski.jpg

Vă mulțumim pentru că ați încărcat fișierul Victor Dombrovski.jpg. Am observat că pagina sa de descriere specifică faptul că este folosit în conformitate cu utilizarea cinstită a materialelor protejate dar nu se arată deloc de ce utilizarea sa constituie utilizare cinstită conform politicii și în ce articol poate fi folosit astfel. Vă rugăm, mergeți la pagina de descriere a fișierului și modificați-o incluzând o explicație a utilizării cinstite.

Dacă ați încărcat și alte fișiere cu utilizare cinstită, vă rugăm să verificați dacă ați completat și explicațiile privind utilizarea cinstită. Găsiți o listă de pagini de descriere pentru fișiere, pagini editate de dumneavoastră urmărind legătura „contribuții” (aflată în partea de sus a oricărei pagini Wikipedia după ce v-ați autentificat), și alegând „Fișier” din meniu. Orice fișier care nu este sub licență liberă și care nu are o asemenea explicație va fi șters în decurs de o săptămână, conform politicii privind materialele protejate.
