Aceste filme sunt toate de scurt metraj și au fost regizate și produse de William K. L. Dickson la faimosul studio Edison's Black Maria.[1]

1895

  • A Frontier Scene (aka Lynching Scene). Film pierdut
  • Indian Scalping Scene. Film pierdut

Aceste 2 filme sunt create de Alfred Clark pentru Edison Manufacturing Company.[2][3]

1899

Acesta este un film dramatic mut de două minute, filmat în Blackburn, Lancashire, Anglia, de Mitchell și Kenyon. Este cea mai veche operă dramatică cunoscută din acest gen.[4]

  • Cripple Creek Bar-room Scene
  • Poker at Dawson City

Aceste două filme au fost produse de Edison's Black Maria și se consideră că sunt primele filme western.[5]

  • A Bluff from a Tenderfoot

Filmat de Frederick S. Armitage pentru American Mutoscope and Biograph Company, descrie o partidă de poker.[6]
