After all I have heard and I have read in publications written by Prof. Randolph L. Braham (USA), Mr Carmilly-Weinberger fled from Cluj a couple of weeks before the deportations. Though it is assumed that he knew what will happen to the Jews left behind, he eased them not to follow his example and he was only (or: in major part)concerned about saving his own life. It is not known that he indeed had achieved anything in Bucharest. Though Mr Weinberger claimed later on, that he went in Bucharest with the order of his community, there are no proves contemporary for (t)his statement. After 1945, the Jewish community of Cluj war very angry on him because of his behaviour during war times and that was the reason why Mr Carmilly-Weinberger only came to Romania when no more witnesses remained in Cluj, in the 1980s. It is also proved (see: Zoltán Tibori Szabó: Frontiera dintre viata si moarte. Refugiul si salvarea evreilor la granita romano-maghiara (1940-1944). Bucuresti:Compania, 2005) that there were only a few jews saved at the Hungarian-Romanian border in this period. Thus, I would recommend rewriting this article using the newest scientific literature and shaping it in a more distanced and objective manner.
