  • Герб радянського періоду
  • Затверджений у 1967р. рішенням виконавчого комітету міської ради.
  • 19.07.1990р. герб офіційно затверджений ще раз, оскільки в 1967р. не були дотримані усі формальності.
  • Щит скошений справа червоним і чорним. У центрі - золота домна. Чорний колір символізує вугілля, червоний - металургійне виробництво. Домна символізує першу доменну піч Старопетровського дослідницького чавуноливарного заводу, на якому в 1862р. інженер-шляховик Ф.Є.Єнакієв вперше виплавив доброякісний чавун на мінеральному паливі (коксі).
