Descriere

U.S. Army vehicles crossing the river Prüm at Lünebach, county of Bitburg-Prüm, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, in March 1945. The view is from what is today Lichtenborner St. (B 410) east towards the church of St. Gertrud. Lünebach had some 700 inhabitants and was heavily damaged during the Battle of the Bulge.

Original description: "All this inanimate wreckage around us was little enough compensation for the human wreckage we hauled back and forth, back and forth."
