ORGANISATION FOR ART AND CULTURE - ROMANIA

The main purpose of the organization is supporting all art forms, conventional or unconventional, and promoting them into society as an essential element of culture. For this, we pursue to facilitate the acces to art and culture for all community members, especially for young people and build up a properly environment for the development of they’re potential. We have an open view concerning the activities we sustain and create:

-cultural activities that follow up our purpose: events, festivals, cultural exchanges, exhibition, parades, workshops, concerts.

-artistic activities created by our group FlyLight: street art shows, fire shows, contemporary art shows (modern circus).

-humanitarian activities: workshops for people with less opportunities which face social/financial problems (social circus), charity events.

The Organization for Art and Culture is founded in 2009, but the three founding members, Raluca Ilas, Imre Nagy and Isabela Parvu, activated in different NGO’s and artistic companies for a long time. And so, with an experience in over five years, a new NGO was born, to support the art, culture, and youth initiatives. Furthermore, the team was completed by Jurj Maria, O.P.A.C.‘s international coordinator, that created an opportunity for international collaboration with Youth For Exchange and Understanding (YEU), an international non-governmental youth organisation established in 1986 and member of the European Youth Forum in Brussels as an INGYO. In our projects, we try to create a friendly environment, where the participants feel comfortable with the trainers and the activities, learn new ways of artistic expression and experience the social and cultural exchange by working together. Another area of interest is to improve the social issues the population in rural regions face; we try to stimulate the young generations, through non-formal artistic activities, promoting important values such as anti-discrimination, initiative, communication, solidarity and tolerance. We strongly be- lieve that art can be a bridge between different social categories and a powerful mean of education, and social circus has proved to be a strong method of non-formal education.
