English summary: I am professor of psychiatry, researcher, medical educator and practicing psychiatrist. Born and raised in Romania, where I also completed my medical degree, I then moved to USA where I completed an intership in psychioaty (University of Rochester) and psychiatric residency (Yale University). I currently work at UC Irvine, where I see patients, teach medical students and psychiatric residents, and do research in schizophrenia, cognitive disorders, and medical education.

I have an interest in psychiatry as a clinical discipline but also the history and philosophy of psychiatry, the philosophy of mind, epistemology, ontology, ans ethics - to the extent that these disciplines help improve the understanding of mental illness and psychiatry. I am also interested in using Wikipedia and social media in e-education.
