Steampunkul este un subgen al științifico-fantasticului și ficțiunii speculative, care modelează o lume imaginară care și-a însușit cu desăvârșire utilizarea mașinilor cu abur. Termenul este asociat cu cyberpunkul și adesea linia subiectului prezintă o istorie alternativă.
