A female number-taker records the details of a locomotive engine beside the platform of a railway station, somewhere in Britain. The mate, driver and assistant look down from the cab of the train. The train has the number '430' on the side.

This image was created and released by the Imperial War Museum on the IWM Non Commercial Licence. The photograph was taken by a member of the forces during their active service duties in the First World War, and became covered by Crown Copyright provisions and so may be reused under that licence, which is considered expired after 50 years.
