Istoricul obiectului
Deutsch: Das 1682 von Lörracher Bürgern gewählte Symbol galt fälschlicherweise als „redendes Wappen“, weil man Lörrach von Lerche ableitete; belegt wurde es erstmals mit der Stadtrechtsurkunde aus dem Jahre 1756. Die Lerche blieb dauerhaft Symbol der Stadt; das Wappen wurde 1965 von Gerta Haller stilisiert und letztmals vom Innenminister des Landes Baden-Württemberg am 11. November 1975 zusammen mit der rot-gelb-roten Stadtflagge genehmigt. Als Farben wählte man die badischen Farben Rot und Gold.
English: The arms were last granted on November 11, 1975. The arms show a canting lark. In 1756 both the city rights and the arms were granted by Count Karl Friedrich of Baden. The colours are also the colours of Baden. Even though the arms have not changed since, the shape and size of the lark have changed considerably. The present arms are used since the year 1965 and show a modern variation of the lark.
